WLG Ltd has become Fleetwood Town Community Trust’s first-ever STEM Ambassador, strengthening a long-standing partnership that continues to deliver positive outcomes across the local community.

Over the years, WLG has proudly supported both Fleetwood Town and Fleetwood Town Community Trust through a range of initiatives. The relationship reflects a shared commitment to education, opportunity and community development throughout Fleetwood, Wyre and the Fylde Coast.

This latest partnership builds on that foundation and creates new opportunities for young people to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Inspiring the Next Generation

As a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, WLG understands the importance of developing future talent. The new STEM Ambassador programme will connect young people with industry professionals and real-world engineering challenges.

WLG will work alongside the Community Trust to deliver engaging workshops, hands-on activities and educational sessions throughout the year.

The programme will reach 15 schools across Fleetwood, Wyre and the Fylde Coast. Students will explore engineering, sustainability, digital technologies and the built environment. They will also develop teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills that support future careers.

Bringing STEM to Life

WLG’s engineers and consultants will share practical knowledge gained from delivering projects across healthcare, education, residential and commercial sectors. By linking classroom learning to real projects, WLG aims to raise aspirations and broaden career awareness.

The programme will also highlight the diverse opportunities available within STEM industries. The initiative will culminate in the Fleetwood Town Community Trust STEM Champions Competition 2026.

Participating schools will complete a series of challenges designed to encourage innovation and collaboration. Teams will then compete for the title of STEM Champions 2026. The winning school will receive recognition at a special celebration event in December.

Partnering with the Community Trust once again

Kev O’Toole, Managing Director of WLG, said: “Our partnership with Fleetwood Town Community Trust has grown over many years.

Becoming the Trust’s first STEM Ambassador is a natural next step. We want to inspire young people, support local schools and showcase the exciting opportunities within engineering and technology. By investing in future talent today, we can help build the skilled workforce of tomorrow.”

This partnership demonstrates WLG’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities, developing talent and creating opportunities for future generations.
