A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at St. Anne’s Links Golf Club for another successful Annual Golf Day – it was great to welcome so many local businesses and industry contacts for a brilliant day of golf, networking and plenty of friendly competition! More importantly, the day gave us the chance to raise money for Blackpool Carers Centre, supporting the incredible work they do for the local community. Everyone’s support made a real difference ❤️ We’re proud to bring local businesses together for an event that combines business, community and charity. A special thank you to St Anne’s Links for hosting us and to everyone who helped make the event such a success! We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year 🏌️‍♂️

It’s brilliant to hear feedback from people within the industry regarding our Degree Apprentices after their two-day introduction event, held at Whitecroft Lighting HQ in Ashton-Under-Lyne last week. As mentioned, our four staff members who attended – Jack Durant, Jake Parker, Jakub Copeland & Maya Bradley – all took part in practical learning sessions, which included building & choosing each fundamental part for a potential new fitting, as well as a competition to who could install one in the quickest time – which was won by WLG! 🏆 Amanda Rushby, Head of Businesses Development at Whitecroft Lighting, said on the event: “It was fantastic to welcome learners from BAM, WLG Ltd, G&R Electrical and Preston Electrical, all coming together for a day of learning, practical challenges, collaboration and plenty of discussion. “Every single learner was an absolute credit to their business. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to get stuck in made the day incredibly rewarding. We’re now looking forward to being part of their journey over the next year, supporting them as they develop their knowledge, skills and confidence within the industry. WLG Ltd Electrical Contracts Manager, Mark Watkinson, took on the 2026 Great North Run last week. Mark completed the iconic Newcastle to South Shields route in an impressive 2 hours and 6 minutes. He also raised around £700 for Blackpool Carers Centre, supporting a fantastic local cause. The 2026 Great North Run welcomed 63,000 runners for its 13.1-mile challenge. The event brought together runners, charities and communities from across the country. Mark’s efforts also reflect WLG’s wider commitment to supporting local charities and community initiatives. Over the years, WLG colleagues have taken on a range of challenges to raise money for good causes. These have included skydives, charity runs and sponsorship of local athletics events. WLG has also supported the next generation through education and community engagement. The company recently became the official STEM Ambassadors for Fleetwood Town Community Trust. This partnership gives WLG an opportunity to inspire young people and showcase careers across engineering and construction. We’re proud to see our team continue supporting causes that make a difference. We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or Mechanical Foreman to join our team on a permanent basis. WLG Ltd recently returned to Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Farington Pavilion for an afternoon of live cricket. We would like to thank Callum Jones and Paul Farrer for the invitation and warm hospitality. It was fantastic to see the pavilion full of spectators and buzzing with activity. Lancashire completed an excellent result, making the occasion even more memorable. The visit highlighted how the facility continues to perform after completion. WLG now supports the building through a three-year Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) maintenance contract. WLG delivered the full MEP Design & Build package for Lancashire County Cricket Club’s second home at Farington Pavilion. The project formed part of a £20 million investment in a modern training and community facility. The development supports Lancashire’s professional men’s and women’s teams throughout the season. It also provides long-term facilities for local clubs, youth programmes and community events. Our design focused on performance, reliability and long-term value. We developed energy-efficient MEP systems that support comfortable, accessible and sustainable spaces. Inclusive design remained a priority throughout the project. WLG Ltd are seeking a highly motivated and committed MEP Revit Technician and/or trainee to join their in-house design team. The candidate shall ideally have experience in MEP Engineering Services modelling with working knowledge of Autodesk Revit/CAD software, producing coordinated 3D models, drawings and plans for our self-delivery construction projects.
