WLG Ltd recently returned to Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Farington Pavilion for an afternoon of live cricket. We would like to thank Callum Jones and Paul Farrer for the invitation and warm hospitality.
It was fantastic to see the pavilion full of spectators and buzzing with activity. Lancashire completed an excellent result, making the occasion even more memorable.
The visit highlighted how the facility continues to perform after completion. WLG now supports the building through a three-year Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) maintenance contract.
WLG delivered the full MEP Design & Build package for Lancashire County Cricket Club’s second home at Farington Pavilion. The project formed part of a £20 million investment in a modern training and community facility.
The development supports Lancashire’s professional men’s and women’s teams throughout the season. It also provides long-term facilities for local clubs, youth programmes and community events.
Our design focused on performance, reliability and long-term value. We developed energy-efficient MEP systems that support comfortable, accessible and sustainable spaces.
Inclusive design remained a priority throughout the project. The completed facility provides an environment that welcomes players, staff, spectators and community users.
Returning to the pavilion demonstrated the project’s lasting success. Seeing the building full of activity reinforced the value of high-quality building services engineering.
As the original MEP Design & Build contractor and current maintenance provider, WLG remains committed to the facility’s future. We will continue supporting its operation and performance throughout our maintenance contract.
Farington Pavilion now stands as a modern cricket venue that benefits elite sport and the wider Lancashire community. The project reflects WLG’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable MEP solutions that perform long after project completion.
