Project: Lancaster University – Sports Hall
Overview
Adding to recent investments in Strength and Conditioning facilities and a Human Performance Laboratory, nearly 20,000 sq ft, the facilities accommodate a variety of full-size courts including basketball courts and eight badminton courts.
The planned opening will facilitate the University’s Roses Tournament, an annual competition between Lancaster and York Universities.
Scope of Work
West Lancashire Group completed the Design & Installation that includes lighting, lighting controls for multiple event use, flexible power provisions, fire alarm, security systems, CCTV, structured wiring and PA systems.
Working closely with Conlon Construction and the University team to deliver this fast track project.

Kirkby Lonsdale – Queen Elizabeth Studio School
New Build MEP Design & Build to create a new 2,166 sq m Department of Education/Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Studio School facility within the schools existing campus, including the integration of key MEP systems to retained buildings.
Cardinal Newman College – Preston
Eric Wright Construction undertook this £2.6m, to create this new build 1,569sqm educational space.
The new build St Francis Building provides state-of-the-art teaching accommodation for Sociology and Maths consisting of seminar rooms, open learning, study areas, IT room and a Costa Coffee shop.
UCLan – Social Spaces, Harrington & Greenbank Building
New Build creative Student Social Space buildings within the University’s existing City centre campus. This £8.2m scheme provides nearly 20,000 sq ft of new social space over two sites linked to both the Greenbank and Harrington buildings.
These exceptional facilities provide staff and students a multi-purpose space to complete studies as well as a creative social space.
Kings Leadership Academy – Bolton (DfE)
Due to growing demands, Kings Leadership Academy urgently required additional Educational space due to unprecedented demand. As part of this requirement, Eric Wright Construction were appointed via the Department of Education to deliver this temporary facility as an intermediate measure to meet the academy’s requirements.
King’s Leadership, which has been nationally recognised for its personal development work with pupils. Sir Iain Hall, the CEO of the Great Schools Trust, which runs the multi-academy trust, said: “These temporary classrooms are of a very high quality”
St Johns CE Primary School – Heaton Mersey (DfE)
New Build MEP Design & Build to create a new Department of Education (DfE) Primary School facility to replace the existing main school building.
University of Liverpool – Greenbank House
Greenbank House is a Grade 2* listed originally the residence of the Rathbone family. Its unique architecture has evolved from many additions to the original farmhouse William Rathbone IV bought in 1809.
University Academy UA92 – Manchester
Post Completion reactive works to a live University building, following our clients request for urgent assistance to undertake post occupancy works within a restrictive timescale.

Twelve Restaurant & Lounge Bar is located on the Lancashire coast at Marsh Mill Village in Thornton, Lancashire.
The clients brief was to create a chic and contemporary design, with ambient lighting creating an interesting and relaxed atmosphere.

Mahiki Bar – Manchester
Located within the city centre, the Mahiki bar brand which has thriving bases in London Mayfair, Kensington as well as Dubai & Gothenburg and which was brought to Manchester in 2017.
The Stock Exchange Hotel – Manchester
The former trading floor of the Manchester Stock Exchange has been named as one of the World’s Best New Luxury Hotels.
MEP design and installation under D&B contract to form a boutique 5-star hotel including luxury Penthouse and Suites, Restaurants, Private Lounges, Conferencing, Michelin 2* chef commercial catering facilities, plus all back of house and support services.
Working with an international team of architects, structural engineers, planners, fit out specialists and interior designers to create this world-class hotel facility.
Liverpool Football Club – Kop Bar
Design & Build Fast track remodelling and refurbishment of existing retail spaces to create a series of new supporters’ bars, including new MEP services installations integrated to a live operational facility.
Salford City Football Club
Design & Build new football ground complete with Leisure facilities and club bars completed for Zerum/G Neville.
Fleetwood Town Football Club
This scheme consisted of the development of an open grassed area on the land of a former farm to provide a community sport and leisure complex with a dedicated training ground for Fleetwood Town FC.
The project included the new build of a training clubhouse which features 7 modern changing rooms to FA guidelines, offices, a new gymnasium, dance/ fitness studio, Physiotherapy suite, classrooms, meeting rooms, a function room and restaurant ‘Cross Bar & Grill’ which features indoor and outdoor dining
The new facility was opened by Sit Alex Ferguson on 20th April 2016
