It’s brilliant to hear feedback from people within the industry regarding our Degree Apprentices after their two-day introduction event, held at Whitecroft Lighting HQ in Ashton-Under-Lyne last week.

As mentioned, our four staff members who attended – Jack Durant, Jake Parker, Jakub Copeland & Maya Bradley – all took part in practical learning sessions, which included building & choosing each fundamental part for a potential new fitting, as well as a competition to who could install one in the quickest time – which was won by WLG! 🏆

Amanda Rushby, Head of Businesses Development at Whitecroft Lighting, said on the event: “It was fantastic to welcome learners from BAM, WLG Ltd, G&R Electrical and Preston Electrical, all coming together for a day of learning, practical challenges, collaboration and plenty of discussion.

“Every single learner was an absolute credit to their business. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to get stuck in made the day incredibly rewarding. We’re now looking forward to being part of their journey over the next year, supporting them as they develop their knowledge, skills and confidence within the industry. The future of our industry is in great hands.”

The next step in the 2026/27 Bright Futures event, in collaboration with BAM UK & Ireland, will be held at BAM Leeds in October, with further events already planned in – here’s to more events being held in the industry.
