Project Overview

West Lancashire Group were awarded the £1.5m installation of Mechanical and Electrical services to Multiply’s head office by Eric Wright Group.
The project was divided into two phases, the first phase included the installation of water, gas, hydrant and electrical infrastructure to the newly constructed building shell. The second phase was the complete M&E installation of the building which included, containment, sub main distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, external lighting, small power, structured wiring, fire alarm, intruder alarm, BMS, disabled refuge, disabled toilet alarm, gas services, cold water services, fire hydrant pipework, domestic hot and cold services, steam boiler plant, heating systems, a.c and ventilation, compressed air and thermal insulation.

Scope of Works

Challenges:
The project ran at a time when the country was hit with delivery difficulties caused by Covid-19 meaning that all materials had to be ordered with an excessive lead time to ensure materials could be brought to site when needed, to the credit of our management team all materials were order so that works could continue uninterrupted, if not managed properly this could have been fatal for the delivery of the steam plant and high level fan heaters.
Successes:
West Lancashire Group managed to deliver the project within budget and timescale set by the client, this was achieved by working closely with Eric Wright Construction, we found this easier to manage with trusted supply chain and keeping an open dialogue between WLG, EWC and all sub-contractors involved.
