Project: Old Trafford, Lancashire County Cricket Club

Overview

MEP Design & Build services were delivered for this new-build stand, which incorporated a four-star Hilton Garden Inn hotel. The development included premium guest bedrooms, restaurant facilities, and flexible event spaces.

The Club’s plans included a major expansion of the existing Hilton Garden Inn. The former Red Rose Suite was replaced with a new extension constructed within the stadium footprint. This extension provided an additional 100 bedrooms, increasing the total on-site hotel capacity to 250 rooms.

Scope of Work

LCCC delivered full coordination, installation, testing and commissioning of all building services for the new cricket stand. The development included high-specification corporate hospitality facilities and a fully serviced hotel.

The scope covered HVAC systems, domestic water services, drainage, LV power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data and life safety systems. The team integrated all systems with the architectural and structural design to ensure a fully coordinated solution.

Working within a live stadium environment, the team maintained safe ongoing operations while protecting key programme milestones. Close collaboration with specialist trades enabled effective interface management, reduced risk and sustained progress throughout the build.

The team completed commissioning and phased handover in line with the construction programme. Corporate and hotel areas were fully operational at completion. LCCC provided comprehensive O&M documentation and delivered structured training to the client’s facilities team.
