Project: Cumbria County Council – Dementia Extra Care Homes
Overview
The sites which are located in Carlisle and Whitehaven created two new build 60 bed Dementia Extra Care Homes for Cumbria County Council.
The projects ran concurrently with a 6-week programme window between the sites creating operational efficiencies for our site installation teams in delivering these new facilities for Cumbria County Council.
Scope of Work
As part of the £11.5m developments, Eric Wright Construction appointed West Lancashire to complete the MEP Designs & Installations, which were completed by our in-house Design team utilising Revit software to facilitate full MEP coordination within a complex timber framed building and restrictive service routes enabling detailed service information to be provided at site level.
MEP works included all building services elements including enhanced nurse call systems, security systems and standby generator facilities
West Lancashire Group FM were appointed post completion to undertake the full Planned Preventative Maintenance works for both sites.
Other Healthcare Projects
CAMHS – Chester
New build Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit, £10.5m state of the art facility for children and young people for Cheshire & Wirral Partnership Foundation Trust. This new unit is a ‘Tier 4’ facility providing in patient and day patient care for people with severe and complex mental health conditions. 26 beds together with day spaces, central nurses’ station, seclusion suite and 4 bed PICU.

Design & Build, traditional construction 3 storey 56 no Assisted living apartments with Extra Care facilities.
Whittle GP Surgery – Whittle-le-Woods
Working as part of the overall project team with Chorley Council and Eric Wright Construction in the development of the MEP strategies.
Healthcare Centre – Ashton in Makerfield
This fantastic new build GP, Primary Care & Community Services provide a single location in £4m centre.
